Magnetic Braking

  • Solar winds interact with the magnetic fields, leading to a loss of angular momentum.
  • Magnetic braking occurs!
  • Therefore, I hypothesize that stars of later spectral classes, which are cooler in temperature and have a more developed convective envelope, will experience more magnetic braking and thus have a slower rotational velocity.
